If you’re like me, you want your home, your car and your body to look, feel and smell good…hence, the birth of The Original Scent Shoppe!
My name is Richelle Scruggs-Dail and I am the founder and CEO of The Original Scent Shoppe, established in October 2010. I began my journey of making all-natural products in my kitchen at home, initially making a cream just for myself. With no intention of turning my creation into a business and even avoiding the notion for almost a year, faith would have a different plan for me. I gave in and decided to bottle my first jar of Whipped Body Butter, stuck a label on the jar and the rest is history. My first week as a new business owner, I made $320.00 in sales…talk about supply and demand!
I simply had 3 goals in mind at the time, that still holds true today. 1. Make a truly all-natural product that is healthy for my skin, 2. Create a scent that works with my body chemistry and 3. Make a great moisturizer that I don’t have to replenish mid-day! I accomplished that goal, in what is known today, as the Whipped Body Butter! After many hours of researching, studying and testing different oils and other ingredients, I concluded my results to a combination of ingredients to use for the cream. Unbenounced to me, my cream would be used to also help treat known skin conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis and severe, dry skin by customers all of the USA. Still today, the Whipped Body Butter remains the #1 selling item in my Body Collection.
Since 2010, the product line has evolved from 1 product to an inventory of 17 items, and growing! Most of our products were created in response to customer demand while others were created solely on the natural health benefits and healing agents in the ingredients that would benefit consumers. We have a diverse customer base that service all ages, ethnicity and professional background, including Physicians! Not to mention, every product made is used by my worst yet best critics…myself, my family and friends!
What sets us apart from our competitors is simple, each product is made by hand and is truly all-natural…never diluted with water, no dyes, no stabilizers or any other harmful chemicals. I am extremely proud of these products and, even more, proud of what my company stands for. I have the awesome opportunity to make truly all-natural scented and unscented products for the home, the car and the body, that any and everyone can enjoy!
In conjunction with retail sales, we recently expanded our business and tapped into Wholesale. Many of our products are now being used on customers by salon and spa owners in Dallas Texas, Cleveland Ohio and a new location in Atlanta Georgia, which will be coming Spring 2016…so don’t be surprised if you see our products in your local shops! Our next project will be our Mobile Division which will be coming to a city near you soon! We can also be found at many local vendor events and indoor markets.
