Greetings! My name is Tamara Hoff (c/o ’05, ’08, ’15) from the University of Illinois Champaign, and I would like to share information with you regarding scholarship opportunities Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Chi Omega Omega Chapter is providing for high school seniors in the Chicagoland area. If you know anyone who could benefit and would like to receive more information on our scholarships, please read below and inbox me or email me ([email protected]) for the applications:
Our scholarship committee is looking to provide scholarships for high school seniors who have been accepted and are committed to attending HBCUs. We also have a general scholarship for students attending any college or university (especially, U of I!! :-D). The specific neighborhoods in our target service areas are Bronzeville, Douglas, Englewood, Grand Boulevard, Hyde Park, Kenwood, Oakland, and Washington Park. All students who live in OR attend school in these neighborhoods are eligible to apply. We have two scholarships, the General Scholarship and the HBCU Scholarship, both of which students can apply. However, each student may only receive one award per year. Please forward this scholarship information to your network, as we are trying to reach as many eligible candidates as possible.
With your help, we may be able to provide several high school seniors with $3,000-$4,000 scholarships to help offset the cost of their college expenses. If you have any questions about our scholarships or the application process, please do not hesitate to let me know. Our scholarship deadline is Friday, April 22, 2016. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration!
Warm regards,
Tamara L. Hoff, Ph.D.
