My name is Ariel Andrews and I am the founder of The Scholarship Coaches. I am from East Point, GA and a true Tri-Cities High School bulldog. I started my company because I simply saw a need and wanted to fulfill a need. I hear several individuals discuss how much student loan debt is preventing them from getting the things they need to move forward in life. Student loan debt is preventing several people from obtaining mortgages, getting a car loan, and even getting jobs because there is a growing trend of employers checking new hire’s credit history. I couldn’t sit back any longer and not make a difference in my community.
I graduated from undergraduate with over $250,000 in scholarships alone. Everything I did on my own and with no help from counselors or teachers. It was a long road, but I was determined to attend college and attend for free because I have always been an advocate of “free education”. I started out small, applying to $100 scholarships to $500 scholarships. However, one day I came across a scholarship that was worth $100,000 for all 4 years of undergraduate and I knew that was my prize.
Applying for scholarships is a lot easier than you think if you have someone who knows the process and can carefully coach you through it. I struggled a lot when applying for scholarships. There were so many questions that I just didn’t have the answer to. I didn’t know what an academic resume was and what the difference between that and a professional resume. I didn’t know what a personal statement was and although the internet is a great tool to use, there is nothing like having an actual person break it down to you and to simplify it.
I didn’t know where to start just like most students. My mom didn’t know where to start either, but what I did know was that the only way to get to my goal was to take it one step at a time, and that’s exactly what I did. Because of my experience, I created my business to help students see a light at the end of the tunnel. I work with students of all ages at all levels. I start from elementary and middle school, all the way up to students who are pursuing their master’s degree. Scholarships are endless and are available for all students to utilize.
Since starting my business I have done exceptionally well. The first day I started I attracted my first client and from there things were history. The most important thing that I always told myself was to believe because with believing comes results.
My business is growing at an alarming rate. So much so that I am having to place people on hold. I’m enjoying every second of it! I love scholarship coaching that my next step is a scholarship boot camp for students in the South Fulton area for Summer 2017. Things are already in the making and coming together for my students.
