At the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election, Chicago voters will cast ballots to ELECT candidates for these offices:
– President and Vice President of the United States
– U.S. Senator
– State Comptroller (Vacancy – 2-year unexpired term)
– Representatives in Congress (all districts)
– State Senators (Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 20 and 28)
– State Representatives (all districts)
– Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (elect three to 6-year terms and one to an unexpired 2-year term)
– Cook County Circuit Court Clerk
– Cook County State’s Attorney
– Cook County Recorder of Deeds
– Board of Review (Tax Appeals) Commissioners: District 1 for four-year term; District 2 for two-year term
– Appellate, Circuit and Subcircuit Judges to fill vacancies
– Yes/No questions on whether to allow previously appointed or elected Judges to remain on the bench.
At the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election, voters in certain Chicago wards and precincts will cast ballots to DECIDE certain binding referenda.
– In Precinct 26 of Ward 17: Whether to continue the ban on the retail sale of alcohol.
– In Precinct 42 of Ward 29: Whether to ban the retail sale of alcohol.
– Whether to create the West Side Expanded Mental Health Services Program and whether to approve a property-tax levy to finance that new district, in the following Chicago precincts:

At the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election, Chicago voters will cast ballots to DECIDE binding amendments to the Illinois Constitution.
– Statewide: Voters will decide whether to amend the Illinois Constitution to require that all transportation revenue (including vehicle licenses and titles, tolls, government fees on different forms of transportation) be spent only on transportation projects such as roads, highways, bridges, airports and mass transit.
At the Nov. 8, 2016 General Election, voters in Chicago will cast ballots to DECIDE advisory (non-binding) referenda questions.
– Countywide: Whether the Recorder of Deeds should be eliminated and merged with the Cook County Clerk’s Office.
– Countywide: Whether there should be a state law to mandate workers to receive earned sick time.
– Citywide: Whether the state should make gun trafficking a felony and require gun shop owners and employees undergo background checks.
– Citywide: Whether the state should provide ‘full and equitable’ funding to the Chicago Public Schools.
– Citywide: Whether the city should work with state and federal officials on prioritizing infrastructure projects.
– Ward 1 in Precincts 1, 16, 19, 23 and 30: Whether half of all new residential construction should be affordable housing.
– Ward 1 in Precincts 4, 17, 20, 23, 26, 30 and 43: Whether there should be more charter schools.
– Ward 25 in Precincts 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 23 and 24: Whether there should be more charter schools.
– Ward 26 in Precincts 2, 5, 6, 11, 14, 21 and 48: Whether there should be more charter schools.
– Ward 33 in all Precincts: Whether there should be more charter schools.
– Ward 46 in Precincts 8, 12, 14, 20, 21, 22, 25 and 32: Whether there should be a freeze on charter schools.
– Ward 49: Whether there should be a freeze on charter schools.
