Judge Chiampas is an Associate Judge, meaning she was appointed by Chief Judge Timothy Evans. There was no election, therefore she can’t be voted out by the people.
So my question is. What do we do? Where do we go from here?

?SHARE? EVERYONE This is Judge Peggy Chiampas who gave Ja’Mal Green a $350,000 bail though he as No priors and has Never been arrested. This same Judge gave 4 wealthy men who viciously beat a man with a Metal Pipe only a $75,000 bail. Mysteriously most of our protesters who get arrested gets this Judge. This is the same Judge Malcolm London had when he was arrested on trumped up charges back in November. This is the same Judge who gave Shaquille O’Neal, the man who was Stomped in the head by a Chicago Police Officer a $1 Million dollar bail. This is the same Judge that had Jamal’s mother & sister arrested at court yesterday. Allegedly this Judge is a close friend/ally of Anita Alvarez. We MUST not only vote for politicians but Judges also as we have a better chance of coming into contact with a Judge than Politician. For the upcoming general election this fall, I would REALLY, REEEEEAALLLY like to see an accessible but thorough voters guide, centered on the local judicial candidates in the ballot!!! It’s very needed and I’m down to collaborate with whoever to make that happen.

Several bar associations do this. They may not be as thorough or as focused on certain issues as you like, but they are better than nothing. The Chicago Bar Association’s is called “The Green Guide” and can be found on the website http://www.chicagobar.org. The Illinois State Bar Association has one as well; their website is http://www.isba.org. A number of other bar associations jointly participate in the Alliance of Bar Associations for Judicial Screenings, the results of which can be found on the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois website at https://wbaillinois.org/judicialevaluations/
What do we need to do to get her out of office? Can we start a petition to get her removed? We must do better and a nation. And I must say I never read up on the Judges selected around election time but, I will from now on thank you for opening my eyes!!!!

Well clearly she is not fair…fire her!
Since she is appointed by Judge Evans place the accountability back on him. Lets see how much he values his job. Flood letters of complaint to his attention.
She is not up for re-election until 2019. Right now you can submit a complaint. The more people who submit one, the better chance they have of taking the complaint seriously.

You can always request that she removes herself from that case or cases for unfair biases…. requeses?? I think is what it is called.. But i am not sure. That is just what i would do if i was faced with this issue. It is worth looking into.

If you google the judges name, you’ll see she is a known police sympathizer. Most other judges in Chicago have long ceased taking police at their every word in the courtroom except for Chiampas (and one other judge whose name I can’t remember right now). She sets very high bails when it comes to police claiming they were assaulted also. Chiampas even did it to the guy who was stomped in his head by police over on Grenshaw last month (I believe he’s out now, though).

Prosecutors told Chiampas that Keegan struck the sergeant three times, apparently causing a concussion and neck injury, the judge said. The judge set bail for Keegan at $100,000.
