Let’s unpack!
Kylie Jenner is about to become the youngest “self-made” billionaire.
Now let touch on a few things that we can all learn from and take away.
Yes, she came from privilege however compared to her sisters (Kendall, Kourtney and Kylie and definitely Rob) she’s killing it. So let’s give the girl her props.
1. She totally leverages social media. She’s constantly on there because the more you feed it the more it gives back.
2. She started her product before she “made it.” We clout chase other brands so much that we push our brand sometimes last or after we make it. Athletes, for example, wait until they hit the pros to finally land a shoe deal instead of trying before they make it.
Kylie runs a lean store. She outsourced manufacturing, she only has 7 full time and 5 part-time employees and she has her store on Shopify.
It doesn’t have to be that complicated to work. Oh and because she put up her own money (either gigs or family) she owns 100% of the company. We can all do this on a lower scale but we have to be smart and be consistent and start now. Lip kit is gonna be huge when she’s 30 because she started super young.
At the end of the day, her family ultimately did what they were supposed to do. While I do not think it was ‘self-made’ she is absolutely smart and leveraged her family as she should! On Instagram, there is a post by Dana Chanel that stated she should have had her mother and father and sisters behind her with their hand on her shoulders. She has a great support system that helped her make great business decisions at a young age. However, compared to some of her sisters and her brother Rob she is killing the game so I will give her credit.
I am inspired, I may not reach Kylie success but my goal is for my kids too!
