SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines.
Search engines such as google, yahoo, bing, and Pinterest all use SEO to identify what rank in a search result something pops up.
The higher the ranking the more your website pops up when people type in certain keywords.
First, words matter.
Words matter which is why before you start blogging, I suggest you check out my article “ To Start A Blog” and focus on what your niche or topics will be. The more you talk about a certain topic and the more you have shares, reposts, comments and likes to certain posts the higher it will rank in the search engine.
Titles Matter.
Your titles should be catchy but boring at the same time. You want to talk about in your title what you are discussing in your posts. Search engines look at tiles as you look at chapters in a book. It summarizes the topic of what will be discussed.
Alt Text In Pictures Matter.
Alternate Text is an amazing quick tip that people need to do more of. That extra step goes a long way. If for some reason your picture does not load you do not have to worry about not having text appear. The second help is the alternate text helps with SEO.
Links Between Websites Matter.
A website with a lot of links can look good to search engines. It shows that you are using useful information and connecting to websites that are in good standings is helpful to the readers so SEO acknowledges that.
Words Used In Links Matter.
Words used in the link matter. Sometimes we use click HERE but other times we use words like for MARKETING TIPS. When we use words to link websites the SEO will recognize that and help connect your website with the word it has been linked to.
History Matters.
Fresh and Consistent Content Matters. Websites coming out with fresh content are rewarded and many times information in the current year is pushed up.
